Ryther’s Juvenile Justice Assessment Team (JJAT) works in close partnership with the King County Juvenile Detention Center to provide behavioral health services for youth in detention while awaiting the disposition of their cases. Our team focuses on assessing and addressing mental health, substance use, and psychological needs, offering tailored treatment plans to help guide youth through a therapeutic process during their time in detention and beyond.

 

 

Who We Serve

The JJAT program serves youth involved in the juvenile justice system, specifically those detained at the King County Juvenile Detention Center. Our team works with these youth to assess their behavioral health needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and connect them with resources that support their long-term recovery and well-being.

 

 

Program Features

 

• Comprehensive Behavioral Health Assessments: Our team evaluates each youth’s mental health, substance use, and other psychological needs.

• Therapeutic Treatment Planning: Based on assessments, we create individualized treatment plans to address the unique needs of each youth.

• Collaboration with Juvenile Justice Professionals: We work alongside juvenile probation counselors, court staff, and other professionals involved in the youth’s case to ensure integrated care.

• Community and Detention Engagement: In addition to services within the detention center, JJAT also provides support to youth in the community, ensuring continuity of care during and after detention.

• Referrals to Specialized Services: Youth are connected with additional services such as psychiatric care, psychological counseling, and substance use treatment based on their needs.
