Ryther was delighted to partner with local Seattle nonprofit Urban Artworks to create a mural on our challenge course fence this spring. When we decided to add a mural to our campus, one of the most important things was that it came from the youth in our community; Urban Artwork's mission really resonated with us. For 25 years, they have provided an arts-based employment program for teens who face barriers to the arts, education, and employment, including those who are in the juvenile court system. We felt like they were the perfect partner to create this mural on our campus! Their youth artists designed the mural and brought it to life over a two-week painting period. We even had a community paint day in which Ryther staff and clients, Urban Artworks artists, and community members came together to help in the creation of the mural.
