THERAPY AND FAMILY SERVICES

GROUP THERAPY

Ryther’s group therapy utilizes effective, evidence-based techniques. Groups are offered virtually or in person at Ryther's main campus. To be eligible for any group, your child, adolescent, or young adult must first be seeing a Ryther therapist to join.

MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

We use evidence-based treatments to treat children, youth, and young adults struggling with challenges including anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-harm, trauma, and more. Some of our treatment includes CBT, DBT, trauma-focused CBT, and Seven Challenges.

FIRS PROGRAM

Family Intervention and Restorative Services (FIRS) is a collaborative approach with community and court-based partners to reduce youth involvement in the criminal justice system by offering alternative solutions to juvenile detention for domestic violence incidents.

INFANT & EARLY CHILDHOOD

Ryther strives to meet the mental health needs of infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their families. We work with the caregiver and child together to offer psychoeducation about development and provide parent coaching to help caregivers be more effective.

INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT

Ryther’s IOPs are a structured form of treatment for mental health, substance use, or behavioral health challenges. It provides a level of care that falls between traditional outpatient therapy and inpatient hospitalization involving therapy, psychoeducation, and skill-building activities.

NEW JOURNEYS/FEP/EPIC

New Journeys focuses on providing critically needed comprehensive treatment to individuals who are experiencing their first episode of psychosis. Mental health staff assists clients with identifying their personal goals and needs for wellness and recovery.

PARTIAL HOSPITALIZATION

Ryther provides two PHPs to serve youth of all genders who are experiencing mental and behavioral health challenges for Eating Disorder Recovery(8-16) or Anxiety and OCD (6-14) by utilizing experiential activities and evidence-based therapies.

PSYCHIATRIC PROVIDERS

Ryther ARNPs provide evaluation and treatment of attentional disorders, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, substance use as well as behavioral and relational problems in youth ages 2 to 25. Clients in specific programs may be eligible for psychiatry up to age 25.

PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT

* Not taking new clients at this time *

Psychological assessments allow us to better understand how the child thinks and understands, the strengths and challenges of their brain, and ability to understand the world.

RESIDENTIAL COTTAGE PROGRAM

* Returning in early 2025 *

Ryther's three new residential treatment programs, "the Cottages," will provide the support necessary to treat eating disorders and severe behavioral health needs. The cottages top off the most intensive end of Ryther's continuum of care.

SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER

Our SUD program offers Standard Drug and Alcohol Assessments, Outpatient Counseling (Level 1), Seven Challenges Groups for those engaged in SUD treatment at Ryther, and Co-Occurring Program for those struggling with mental health and substance use disorder.

WRAPAROUND SERVICES

Wraparound with Intensive Services (WISe) is for youth with complex behavioral health needs that would benefit from a higher level of care or is at risk of out of home placement. WISe requires a time commitment from families of at least 10.5 hours per month.

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH INTEGRATION

Ryther therapists partner with primary care physicians at several medical clinics throughout Seattle. Clinicians assist in short term, solution-focused therapy for youth and their families. Collaborative care and effective referrals to on-going care is our focus.

“If we seize this moment, step up for our children and their families in their moment of need, and lead with inclusion, kindness, and respect, we can lay the foundation for a healthier, more resilient, and more fulfilled nation.”

- Dr. Vivek H. Murthy, Surgeon General of the United States
